The training seminar for this <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-detox" title="liver detox">liver detox</a> will be on Saturday May 21, 2011, @ 8am PDT. The great thing about this group detox is that we are in communication throughout the detox via the forum and providing daily support and training for this very special <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-cleanse">liver cleanse</a>. Also, you don’t have to leave your house to get trained. With internet technology, we have people joining us from all over the world.</p>
<p>I have found throughout the years that daily support can be of great help. It’s also fun to do this with other people. People will share their recipes, new found eating ideas and general experiences on a daily basis.  The sense that you are not alone can be very helpful.</p>
<p>I am personally posting on the forum everyday to remind us as to what we are doing that day, how to prepare and what to expect.  Having provided over 700 of these detoxes over 8 years, both as a group detox format, or in my clinic, I have a good idea as to how people will respond and what their needs are. Posting will be informational and inspiring, helping you to have a fun and successful cleanse.</p>

The amount of information can be overwhelming for someone who may not be familiar with the body’s functional pathways. Finding a <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-cleanse" title="liver cleanse">liver cleanse</a> for your particular condition can even be more daunting.</p>
<p>The first step would be to assess what type of cleanse you would be looking for. There are 3 main cleanses; liver, gallbladder and colon.  Each organs dysfunction presents with its own set of symptoms. By knowing the symptoms of the organ, we can determine the best type of cleanse.</p>
<p>Usually, people who have issues with their colons, experience bowel movements that may not be perfect. Anything from too hard to too soft. There is usually intestinal discomfort with periodic cramps. Because the colon is responsible for breaking down food and assimilating nutrients, when a person is having difficulty here, they will usually feel fatigued, maybe even nauseous due to toxins that may be created. There are many types of disorders that can benefit from a colon cleanse. That might be yeast (Candida) infections or overgrowth, and onslaught of bad bacteria, irritable bowel and ulcerative colitis.</p>
<p>When the gallbladder is off, it is usually very noticeable. The gallbladder has a tendency to build up material that we call stones. If a stone gets stuck in the bile duct, the gallbladder presents as a sharp, crampy type pain located mid abdomen on the right side.  Sometimes this pain can be felt radiating to the back.</p>
<p>Knowing if your liver has become overburdened can be a little more difficult because the symptom picture can be subtle and more varied. Think of the liver as a filter. As most filters do at some time, the liver filter can become more clogged or sluggish. There are many reasons for this, such as environmental toxins we are exposed to, poor eating habits, an abundance of pharmaceuticals. When the liver filter gets clogged, we may feel fatigued, have insomnia, feel more depressed, have digestion problems, low energy, and really, not feel right.  By doing a liver cleanse you clear your filter and begin to start to feel better.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The point of a <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-cleansing-diet" title="liver cleansing diet">liver cleansing diet</a> is to maintain the optional functionality of the liver. A liver cleaning diet can be done over a long period of time, without harm, gently bringing the liver to a state of less inflammation and increased filtration.</p>
<p>Many times people eat this type of cleansing diet after they have done a short term liver detox or cleanse. They get the initial impact of a short detox, and then look to maintain its effect.  This is not always needed or the recommend way to proceed.  Should a person’s health be compromised, a short detox or cleanse may be too strong and have adverse effects.  Eating a diet of foods that have an effect on the liver spread out over a long period of time would be gentler way to proceed with less chance of problems.</p>
<p>As you might guess, these foods would be high in antioxidants and specifically, high in the amino acids that up-regulate the liver to perform at its best. Also as you might guess, these foods are whole foods, vegetables and fruits. As mentioned before and found in our detox information section of the website, cruciferous vegetables have the most appropriate amino acids to cleanse the liver.</p>
<p>Foods that contain high sugar content are not recommended and in fact are the first foods to be eliminated from the diet when choosing to eat a liver cleansing diet. These foods would be the high fructose corn syrups, refined sugars, honey, alcohol, cakes, cookies, etc.  Packaged foods are not recommended. For this type of diet, we are concerned with foods that might be allergenic and thereby causing inflammation. Because of this we also eliminate glutinous grains.  Amaranth, quinoa, oats, rice are ok.  It is also recommend to heavily cutting down on meats. This includes chicken and fish. If you are to eat meats, they should be of the highest quality, hormone free, naturally raised, etc.  I have also found that people do notice better results when they eliminate coffee and other high caffeine products.</p>
<p>A simple menu might be rice cereal or oatmeal for breakfast, a quinoa salad or some type of lettuce, spinach, vegetable salad for lunch, and some sort of organic meat, with lots of cruciferous vegetables for dinner.  Maybe a vegetarian chili.  For snacks, fruit or celery with hummus would be great.  Also, many people use the UltraClear Plus daily for snacks to get the increased liver cleaning amino acids.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today we are moving past the core days onto day 8 of the <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-cleansing" title="liver cleansing">Liver Cleansing</a> Detox.  There are 22 people doing this January 2011 group 10 Day Express Detox.</p>
<p>The reports are coming in and everyone is still with the program and doing well.  As this is not a starvation diet, we are encouraged to eat a lot. Because what we are eating is very simple and consists mostly of cruciferous vegetables, there are not a lot of fat calories. Because we recommend at least 800 calories a day, it is important to eat a lot. The UltraClear Shake is also provides protein and calories for the core days, plus the correct amino acids to up-regulate the liver to optimize its functions. Several people including myself have reported losing some pounds.  Reports of sleeping better, less inflammation and radiant skin have been coming in.</p>
<p>The core of the core days is cruciferous vegetables. The Cruciferous [krew-SIH-fer-uhs] vegetable family is named for their cross-shaped (crucifer) flower petals.  Cruciferous vegetables contain antioxidants (particularly beta carotene and the compound sulforaphane).  They are high in fiber, vitamins and minerals.  Research of this family of vegetables indicates that they may provide protection against certain cancers.</p>
<p>A review of research published in the October 1996 issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association showed that 70% or more of the studies found a link between cruciferous vegetables and protection against cancer.  Lab studies show that one of the phytochemicals found in cruciferous vegetables &#8211; sulforaphane &#8211; can stimulate enzymes in the body that detoxify carcinogens (cancer causing agents) before they damage cells, says Matthew Wallig, DVM, PhD.  Through different mechanisms, two other compounds found in cruciferous vegetables &#8212; indole 3-carbinol and crambene &#8212; are also suspected of activating detoxification enzymes.  This element changes the way estrogen is metabolized and may prevent estrogen driven cancers.  Cruciferous vegetables also contain a kind of phytochemical known as isothiocyanates, which stimulate our bodies to break down potential carcinogens.</p>
<p>Most people after the core days report an increase in clarity, feeling less pain, and increased energy.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today we as a group started our annual Group <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-detox" target="_self">liver detox</a>.  This event will go on for 10 days, starting as an elimination diet, 3 core days and then slowly re-introducing foods.</p>
<p>I find doing this in with a group a fun way to participate. I have been doing this event for the last 8 years. I always join for the January cleanse as a way to prepare myself for the upcoming year. One of the benefits I receive from doing this liver cleanse is a sense of mental clarity. This really helps as this time of year I am doing my business planning and making goals for the upcoming year.  We also hold quarterly group events, but this beginning of the year is the most popular.</p>
<p>This year I also notice I have been gaining weight and would like to lose 15lbs.  This cleansing diet is not a necessarily a weight loss diet, however most people usually lose a few pounds. The benefit is to help break old habits and create new healthy ones. I use this event as a leaping board to extraordinary health. We are eating very health foods for these 10 days. People report felling so good after these 10 days, there is a window of opportunity to take a leap and move forward.</p>
<p>Many people join because they may have more serious health issues. This 10 Day Express Detox can be very effective in reducing inflammation, reducing high liver enzymes, improving stomach and digestive disorders and aiding with sleep. In my case there is a genetic anomaly that causes my body to make more cholesterol then needed, not process sugar well, causing me to be insulin resistant and to have excess of fat around my middle.  Looking at me you would not know I have this problem.  Currently I eat very well, and exercise a lot, which really helps manage this.  However, if I did not exercise and eat the way I do, I would be in bad shape and very bad health.</p>
<p>If fact, before I knew I had this issue, I did not take very good care of myself, was 60lb heavier than I am now, and, had a 6 way cardiac bypass in 2000.  As you can imagine, this woke me up.</p>
<p>Being in the health field I have been able to try many products and try many health regimes to see what would keep my numbers low.  I find that I tend toward, even when taking care of myself, to gain weight, feel sluggish, and my numbers creep up.  Doing the 10 Day Express Detox resets my body to process the foods I am eating more efficiently. Every time I do this detox / <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-cleanse" title="liver cleanse">liver cleanse</a>, I get a renewed source of energy, I feel great, I gain energy and am less sluggish.  My blood tests show my numbers go down.</p>

Researchers at the University of California Berkeley have discovered that an anticarcingenic compound in brassica vegetables (diindolylmethane) that can affect and reduce human prostate cancer cells. Another study at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore, researched the effects of broccoli sprouts on rats. The rats were first fed broccoli sprouts. A few days later, they were injected with a carcinogen. The results showed that the rats that ate broccoli sprouts developed smaller, fewer and slower-growing tumors than the rats that were on a regular diet. Other lab studies show that one of the phytochemicals found in cruciferous vegetables &#8211; sulforaphane &#8211; can stimulate enzymes in the body that detoxify carcinogens (cancer causing agents) before they damage cells, says Matthew Wallig, DVM, PhD.</p>
<p>As far as detoxification in concerned, these vegetables are powerful inducers of the microsomal cytochrome P450 enzyme CYP1A2, which is responsible for the metabolism of many pharmacological agents and toxins, thereby promoting detoxification of these substances.  By causing induction of the enzyme, they may increase the rate of phase I transformations aiding in detoxification making these vegetables a good choice for a liver cleaning diet. This of course is why they are used as the primary vegetables for a<a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-detox"> liver detox</a>.</p>
<p>With studies such as these, and there are more, the case for eating cruciferous vegetables becomes a solid yes for staying healthy!</p>

<p>The first step would be to assess what type of cleanse you would be looking for. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many patients come to me with digestion issues that a <a href="http://www.detoxyouinfo.com/liver-cleansing-diet" title="liver cleansing diet">liver cleansing diet</a> would be helpful. Many of these problems have been long standing. They present with difficult digestion, stools that are not normal, such as frequent diarrhea, excess gas and discomfort such as bloating.  Many of these problems are really due to issues of the intestines.</p>
<p>These issues can have many causes. For many people, the cause is a poor diet over time. Eating sugars and gluten products can over time have an effect on the intestines, weakening or degrading the wall lining.  For many people, they have an auto immune disorder such as crohns, or irritable bowel syndromes, where inflammation of the intestines causes issues and again, degradation of the intestinal lining. The intestinal lining thins overtime, making it more sensitive to more and more irritants. Then, no matter what a person eats, they get symptoms. Many of the pharmaceutical interventions then mask the symptoms, but don’t correct the root of the problem.</p>
